Announcements: 1. Of the 21 teams that competed at the senior high knowledge meet in Fergus Falls yesterday, three LPA teams placed in the top 50%. Congratulations on the results and the work devoted to Knowledge Bowl this winter! 2. This Thursday and Friday during both lunches Yearbook Staff members will be taking orders for 2018-19 yearbooks for $42.95. If you buy a yearbook we will have a free treat for you. Those of you that have already bought a yearbook can also stop by the table during lunch and get a free treat. 3. NHS, Student Council, Child Development, and Royalty Candidates will all be helping/assisting with the Elementary Snow Daze Activities on Friday, February 22nd. Those students involved should have also received an email verifying their inclusion. We will be gone from the high school most of the day. CJH 4. Seniors: The Families Forever Scholarship Group is now accepting applications from seniors in the LPA District. The scholarship is $1,500. You need to write an essay and participate in an interview. More information was emailed to you! Deadline for the essays is March 23rd. 5. Seniors: Dollars for Scholars applications are due on Friday, February 22nd. Late applications will not be accepted. 6. SnoDaze Dress Up Days February 14-15: Thursday: Life (dress in college gear or future career attire), and Friday: Battleship (color wars: Seniors = Black, Juniors = Blue, 10th gr. = White, 9th = Purple, 8th = Green, 7th = Red, and Staff = Gray) 7. SnoDaze Coronation will be on Wednesday, February 13th at 2:40pm. Sign up for the Dodgeball Tournament and Talent Show! The Talent Show will be Friday, February 15th. 8. Go to or see Mrs. Berger to order your 2018-19 LPA Yearbook. Deadline to buy yearbooks is April 19th but don’t wait until the last minute to buy. Yearbooks are on sale now for $42.95. Fun surprises right around the corner if you buy your yearbook early. 9. 8th Graders: Most of you have been selected for NAEP testing in Math or Reading. NAEP testing will be on February 19th. Letters will be sent home today with information. 10. NHS Students that can help provide Child Care during PT Conferences in the ECFE Room on either Tuesday, February 19th or Thursday, February 21st, are encouraged to sign-up on the Google Document that was shared with you on Thursday. CJH 11. Students in grades 8, 9, and 11 have the opportunity to take the MN Student Survey during the last week of February. 12. Come join the fun at the “Luke Gandrud Memorial Youth Fishing Derby” on Saturday, February 16 from 1:00pm to 3:30pm. It will be held at the public access on Lake Ida. This event is for ages 15 and under and all tackle and bait will be provided free of charge. Free hot dogs and pop and prizes for the biggest fish!
