Announcements: 1. November is American Indian Heritage month. On Monday, Dennis Rogers, a Native American dancer/presenter, will be here at 1:30pm in the theater to talk to students in grades 7-12. 2. A rep. from North Dakota State College of Science (NDSCS) will be here on Friday, November 16th at 8:30am. 3. We encourage students to use facilities such as the weight room, multi-purpose room and gyms after school. Please see Mr. Eischens about opportunities and supervision. 4. Come support your fellow Raiders! All students are invited to come watch this year’s musical, A Little Princess tomorrow starting during 5th hour. The cost is just $1 to attend. Check in with your 5th period teacher, who will collect the money, before heading down to the theater with your class. 5. Athletes – Please remember to sell fruit for the Raider Booster Club. All forms and payments need to be turned into Sherri Lefebvre by TODAY. Please remember that there are $10 Amazon Gift Cards given for every 10 items that are sold. 6. Anyone interested in wrestling this year, a reminder to get your gold card from Sherri in the athletic office and return it to Coach Otto. See coach Otto for more detailed information. 7. Josten’s will be here next Tuesday, November 13th at 8:30 AM -1st hour- to meet with the Seniors in the Theater. Josten’s will meet with Sophomores 2nd hour to discuss class rings. Both sessions with take most of the periods. Josten’s will return on Friday, November 16th at 2:30 to take orders in the main lobby. 8. “Attitude is a choice. Choose well.” 9. ONE ACT PLAY sign-up sheet is now posted on the Spanish room door. Any student grades 9 – 12 that is interested in being part of the cast or crew, please sign up this week so I can get an idea of how many students will participate. Auditions will be the first week of December. Rehearsals will begin that week also. Sub-section competition is January 26th and Sections are February 2nd. I am looking forward to another great performance! C-W 10. A Children Services Advocate from the Lakes Crisis Center will be coming to our school to offer support groups to students. Some of the topics that may be covered are: Emotional Resiliency, Stress Management, Grief, etc. If you are interested in being in a group, please stop by the Counseling Office for more information. We are hoping to start groups asap. 11. Friday, November 16 LPA High School’s National Honor Society will be sponsoring a blood drive in the HS Theatre. It will run from 8 am to 2 pm. To schedule an appointment, contact Mrs. Hogie at firstname.lastname@example.org. 12. The Book Fair will be here the week of November 12 -16. We will be doing Boo-grams next week, Oct 29 – Nov. 1, as a kick off to raise money to increase sales for the book fair. For $1.00, you purchase a “You’ve been Booed” hang tag, in the media center. The Media Center Staff will hang the purchased tags on the student’s lockers for whom they were purchased for. The receiving student will bring their tag to the media center for a prize. The money generated will be split up among the Language Arts classrooms to purchase books from the book fair. 13. There will be a Financial Aid Meeting for students and parents in the theater on Tuesday, November 13th at 6pm. A college rep. will be here to present and give information on paying for college.
