Announcements: 1. All students, parents, grandparents and teachers are invited to the FALL CHOIR CONCERT, tonight at 7:30pm in the high school theatre featuring the junior and senior high choirs. Check out the wide array of choral tunes including patriotic, Native American, American folk and pop tunes. A fun variety of songs with a slide show adding to the arts experience. Hope to see you there! 2. Dates for “Rise & Shine” workouts have been changed to November 6 and 8. 3. There will be a brief PaY meeting in Mr. Kirkwood’s room tomorrow during lunch. Lunch will be provided. 4. ONE ACT PLAY sign-up sheet is now posted on the Spanish room door. Any student grades 9 – 12 that is interested in being part of the cast or crew, please sign up this week so I can get an idea of how many students will participate. Auditions will be the first week of December. Rehearsals will begin that week also. Sub-section competition is January 26th and Sections are February 2nd. I am looking forward to another great performance! C-W 5. Senior High Knowledge practice will begin next week. We will start at 8:00 a.m. on Wednesday, November 7th in Room 211 next to the science rooms. It is not too late to join, so send your name and current grade level to Mr. Veit as soon as possible. 6. A Children Services Advocate from the Lakes Crisis Center will be coming to our school to offer support groups to students. Some of the topics that may be covered are: Emotional Resiliency, Stress Management, Grief, etc. If you are interested in being in a group, please stop by the Counseling Office for more information. We are hoping to start groups asap. 7. There is a mandatory boys’ basketball meeting for all players 9-12 Tuesday, November 6th after school in Coach Haberman’s room. 8. Athletes – Please remember to sell fruit for the Raider Booster Club. All forms and payments need to be turned into Sherri Lefebvre on or before November 9th. Please remember that there are $10 Amazon Gift Cards given for every 10 items that are sold. 9. Friday, November 16 LPA High School’s National Honor Society will be sponsoring a blood drive in the HS Theatre. It will run from 8 am to 2 pm. To schedule an appointment, contact Mrs. Hogie at firstname.lastname@example.org. 10. Juniors: The National Guard will be here on Wednesday, November 7th to do the Career Exploration Program with your ASVAB results. We will meet 7th hour in the Media Center. 11. Fall & winter sport athletes: If you have finished your fall sport, please see Coach Oistad or Otto to do your locker check out. If you will be participating in a winter sport and will need a locker/lock, see them as well for that. 12. 7th through 11th graders need to check your emails and fill out any information that was sent to you. 13. Boys’ Basketball – Sign-up is next to Coach Haberman’s door. Please sign up ASAP so we know numbers. 14. NHS is still accepting donations of healthy snacks for treats for troops until November 6th. We are in need of crackers, coffee and individually packaged pretzels, however all donations are welcome! 15. The Book Fair will be here the week of November 12 -16. We will be doing Boo-grams next week, Oct 29 – Nov. 1, as a kick off to raise money to increase sales for the book fair. For $1.00, you purchase a “You’ve been Booed” hang tag, in the media center. The Media Center Staff will hang the purchased tags on the student’s lockers for whom they were purchased for. The receiving student will bring their tag to the media center for a prize. The money generated will be split up among the Language Arts classrooms to purchase books from the book fair. 16. There will be a Financial Aid Meeting for students and parents in the theater on Tuesday, November 13th at 6pm. A college rep. will be here to present and give information on paying for college. 17. Students that want to be in the gym, weight room, or wrestling room after school need a faculty supervisor or they will be kicked out.
