Lake Park Audubon Schools joined the United way in this years Day of Caring event. 30 teams of 8-10 students, with adult supervision, visted 27+ sites located throughout our school district. Performing jobs such as raking, weeding, washing windows, painting, and in one eventful activity, cleaning out a barn, our students helped out in every way they could. LPA Sixth Grade students had completed some lovely Earth Day/Arbor Day activities the week before, helping to reinforce our values of a strong community in their green effort.

After returning to the school, High School students spent time doing some significant cleaning and recyling to help prepare for the move to our new building. They then had the chance to participate in activities called "Exploratories", ran by staff. These were educational activities outside the scope of your normal day to day. Examples include: Sausage Making, Book Binding, The Amazing Race, Frolfing, The History of Video Games, and so on.
